Remember Who You Really Are- By: Bob Uslander

Description : Do you really know who you are? I'm not talking about your name, or what you do for a living, or whether you're a mom or a dad. What I want to know is "Are you still connected to the YOU deep down inside--the you that giggled and spun around until you fell down totally dizzy, the you that played with friends outside until your bedtime on warm summer nights. The happy and carefree you that was filled with dreams and possibilities. Do you remember that person? That person is still you.

You are NOT who other people think you are. You are NOT what your teachers or your parents or your bosses or your co-workers or your spouse say you are. If you're like most people, you are NOT even who you've come to believe you are.

The person you think you are is a fantasy-a collection of thoughts and ideas-- based on stories you've been told about who you are for so many years. You've heard them and identified with them for so many years that you now believe them to be true: you're not smart enough, you can't sing, you don't have what it takes, you can't get a better job, you're too old. Yada, yada, yada. You've been hearing it your whole life.

These stories keep us from truly experiencing all the joy and all beauty that is available to us in life.

In case you've forgotten, I'd like to remind you of who you really are. You are a perfect, joyful, curious, amazing person who came into this world with a definite purpose, and unique gifts and talents. At some level, you know this, don't you? You know it in your heart, but maybe not in your head.

Remember the times in your life when you felt pure joy, when life was so incredible and sweet. Think back to your happiest memories and spend some time recalling the feelings that were being expressed then. That's who you are. That's what you deserve to be feeling all the time.

If you're not feeling that way about yourself at least most of the time, I suggest it's time to create a different story. It's time to remember who you really are and get to know the "real you" again.

I would love to help you reintroduce you to yourself. I like to say that through working with me, "people fall deeper in love with themselves."
